AzVision.az reports that Maria Sherstyuk, Director of the Mountain-Ski School, presented the new skiing simulator during a two-day media tour organized at the Shahdag Mountain Resort, operating under the State Tourism Agency (STA), to launch the winter season. She noted that just a 10-minute session on the simulator is equivalent to a full day on the slopes, as the machine runs continuously and optimizes every movement.
‘The simulator is perfect for beginners. Experience shows that complete novices, after just three days of half-hour sessions, can ski on real snow on green and blue slopes. The system engages all muscle groups while enhancing focus and concentration. Accessible to both children and adults, this technology is considered a major step forward in the development of alpine skiing and snowboarding.’
Maria Sherstyuk noted that while there were 11 such simulators worldwide last year, their number has already increased to 17 this year. The simulator at Shahdag belongs to one of the top brands and is equipped with a special safety system, a high-quality base covering, and six sensors. A 3D visualization feature will also be available soon.
‘The main advantage of the simulator is that it follows the exact same methodology as skiing and learning on real snow. New users train in 10-minute sets, then move to the next stage after a short break, quickly mastering skiing techniques. This approach increases both physical and mental engagement. Tests have shown that the system is suitable for users aged 3 to 65. Thus, the Shahdag simulator sets new standards in terms of experience and safety, making winter sports more accessible both in Azerbaijan and across the region.’
